2018 WEDDING FAVORITES
We captured lots of unforgettable moments in 2018… big ones, little ones, romantic ones, serious ones, funny ones, and lots of in between moments when no one realized we were watching. It’s basically impossible to narrow it down to a small set of favorites, but below are a few of mine! And if I had to do it over again tomorrow, I might choose completely different images. But today I was focused on the moments… with a few pretty scenes and timeless portraits mixed in there. Which is pretty appropriate since that’s exactly how I’d describe my style of photography 🙂

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Harrison!
We were so excited and honored to be able to be a part of this wedding! We’ve been friends with Jon and his family for the past 15 years- sharing way too many beers tailgating and cheering on the Hokies at VT football games. One day he introduced us to a girl named Alissa- a girl who immediately made us feel like we’ve been friends with her as long as we’ve known Jon. As individuals, these two radiate warmth, love, humor, and happiness. Together, those qualities are all magnified. And based on all of the sweet, funny, sentimental, and heartfelt things their friends and family said about them on their wedding day, I know there are a lot of people who believe in this marriage and will be there to love and support them in the years to come… Travis and I included!

A few of my favorites from Jake and Katherine’s wedding day! I can’t say too much about this day because I had complete laryngitis while I was photographing it- ha 🙂 But really, a huge thank you to these two and their friends/family for being so patient with me, and a huge thank you to Travis for speaking for me and directing most of the day. Though this day really needed very little direction- they planned such an easy, laid back, warm, and welcoming celebration. The whole day just revolved around spending time with and connecting all of their favorite people (and their dog, Ginny!). We were honored to be a part of it!

It’s not every day that you find the person you want to spend your life with in high school, but these two are so obviously perfect for each other. Allison and Ben’s wedding day included two of the best pups, Charlottesville mountain views, classic stylish details, one of my favorite families, and lots of longtime friends who have become their family. In January, you never really know what kind of weather you’ll have in Virginia, but the stars aligned for Jack and Amanda… in between a rainy Friday and a snowy Sunday was the most beautiful crisp winter day in Charlottesville. Jack and Amanda’s heartfelt ceremony at UVA Chapel was topped by a rockin’ celebration at the beautiful Early Mountain Vineyards. An amazing team of vendors, led by Lindsay Kennedy of LK Events & Design created such a warm and memorable day- everything from the one of a kind invitations, to the gorgeous candlelit florals, to the shared family style entrees. Everything was thoughtful, cozy, welcoming, and personal to who they are as a couple… including a nod to their favorite pup Quinn (check out their cake below!), and a cameo by the groom and his band, Three Sheets to the Wind, who borrowed the mic at the end of the night to play a few of their favorite songs. Needless to say, it was the perfect start to our year…
